    • Welcome to SASS

    The school of SASS came into being after it was split from the larger school of Education,Arts and Social sciences(SEASS).The school offers various programmes that have been approved by the university senate.It also services other schools in the university wuth different courses.The mode of study is ful-time,weekend,evening studies and ODEL,currently the school has only one department, the department of Arts and Social Sciences(A&SS),The department offers programme at certificate,diploma,Undergradute and postgraduate levels.

    All our programmes offered inthe school are designed to meet the market demands and are approved by the University senate and Commision of University Education(where applicable).to expose students to real life experiences,all our programmes include industrial attachment and fieldwork components in addition to coursework.Therefore, students from our school are well-equiped with relevant knowledge and skills to be job creators,not seekers and ones who can foster independent learning.

    Master in Geography Requirements

    University Postgraduate academic regulations shall apply .To qualify for admission to the Masters of Arts in Geography,candidate shall be:-

  • Holders of atleast upper-Second class degree in BA Geography ,BSC in Geography and Natural Resource Management,Bed with Geography course,BSC in Environmental Sccience,BSc in Climate studies,BA in Urban and Regional Planning,BA in Community Development or other Relevant disciplines with upper second class of Garissa University or other recognized university by the Senate of Garissa University.

  • Holders of lower second class honor degree of Garissa Universityor any other recongnized universityand Postgraduate diploma of garissa University or any other Recognized university,or evidence of extensive research experience as demonstrated by publication in peer reviewed journals or atleast two(2) years of working experience.
  • Holders of a pass degree with a Post Graduate Diploma in the relevant areas with 3yrs working experience.

  • Mode of Delivery
    The programme shall be delivered both on Full time and Pat-time basis,while full-time classes will run on weekdays,part-time classes will involve evening classes and online learning.
